Cookies versus localStorage
Cookies are browser values that can accompany requests to a server. LocalStorage is a separate browser feature that lets page scripts save values for the same site. The supplied page code does not set cookies. It can save two preferences in localStorage only after the actions described below.
No optional analytics, advertising scripts or third-party embeds are loaded by these pages. You do not need to accept optional tracking to read the guides. Saving a preference here does not enable any such service.
The reading preference
sfn-spoiler-level stores one of three choices: craft, setup or endings. It is saved when you change the reading selector on the home page. Its purpose is to remember the selector’s value on this device. It does not open spoiler disclosures, hide every film title or grant permission to track you.
The privacy preference
sfn-privacy-choice stores the value essential-only if you choose the corresponding control below. It records your explicit choice locally. Because these pages do not load optional tracking in the first place, saving this value does not switch an analytics or advertising service on or off.
Duration and access
Neither localStorage preference has an automatic expiry in the site code. It remains until you clear it, remove site data or your browser removes it. These values are not automatically sent with requests. Scripts running on the same site can access same-origin localStorage, which is why sensitive information is not stored there.
The contact drafting tool does not deliberately persist your message fields in this storage. A copied draft or downloaded file remains subject to your own device’s clipboard and file-management behaviour.
